Throwback Jack: Nike Air Shake Ndestrukt 2017 Retro
Every few years, Nike will adhere to the complaints of sneaker heads, from religious posters on forums, to everyday kick-steppers. This means, retro-ing a coveted pair of sneaks from the 1990’s, the golden era of athletic footwear innovation. In this instance, that means bringing back the Nike Air Shake Ndestrukt, from the coveted collection of Hall of Fame Power Forward Dennis Rodman.
There have been few figures in NBA history more polarizing than Dennis Rodman, whose uncanny personality translated to wiry play on the court. Rodman was a key anchor on both the “Bad Boy” Detroit Pistons teams of the late ’80’s, and the Chicago Bulls dynasty of the ’90’s.
Rodman rocked this shoe in particular during the 1996 season, when the Bulls eclipsed a then-NBA-best 72-10 record, defeating the Seattle Supersonics to become champions.
On April 28, the shoe will return in it’s three OG colorways; Black/White, White/Red and White/Navy.
